Auditions for the Spring 2014 season of Spartan Mambo are coming! We are looking for a few new dancers to join our team this semester, and represent SJSU at the 7th Annual College Salsa Congress! The audition will be on Saturday, February 8th from 11am – 1pm at the Event Center.

Spartan Mambo is the new champion of the 2013 World Latin Dance Cup in the Collegiate Team division! This year is the first year in the history of the world championships that they have had a college division, and Spartan Mambo represented San Jose State at the competition seen by over 100,000 people from around the world! Spartan Mambo also placed 7th in the Amateur Teams division, beating out teams from Japan and Ecuador.

Spartan Mambo opened the Saturday afternoon show today at the 12th Annual San Francisco International Salsa Congress, one of the largest salsa events in the world! The team will be performing again tomorrow night at around 8:30pm. You can watch the performance streaming live by going to the SF Salsa Congress website.

Spartan Mambo’s annual “Salsa Bash” social is coming soon! The event will be held on Saturday, November 16th at the Loma Prieta Room in the Student Union. There will be beginner & intermediate salsa lessons taught starting 7:30pm, and social dancing until 11pm. There will also be a debut performance of Spartan Mambo’s latest routine!
The event is just $10 at the door, or you can purchase pre-sale tickets from any member of the team. Come join us for a fun night of dancing!
