About

Spartan Mambo is San José State University’s official salsa performance team.

Our goal is to enrich the lives of SJSU students and the members of the San Jose community through performance salsa dance.

We perform at numerous events throughout the school year, both on and off campus. Some of our past events have included Spartan Basketball games, Fire on the Fountain, the College Salsa Congress, and halftime shows for the Golden State Warriors.

Joining

If you are interested in joining our team, we hold auditions at the beginning of every semester. The only requirement is that you must be a currently enrolled San José State University student. If accepted onto the team, there is a $200 membership fee which goes towards covering the cost of your costume and travel expenses.

Please contact us if you are interested or have any questions.

Performances

If you are looking to have Spartan Mambo perform at your event, please contact us. We are happy to perform at most events free of charge, but be aware that as a student team we are generally only available to perform during the academic year (roughly January-May and September-December).
