Support Harshdeep!

Harshdeep is a member of Spartan Mambo, the Latin dance team at San José State University where students learn how to dance bachata, salsa and other Latin dance styles. As a student run team, we rely on the generosity of families, alumni and the salsa community to help cover our costs.

This fundraiser supports our Spring semester, including two major trips that are core to our season: the San Luis Obispo Salsa Exchange (SLOSX) and the LA Collegiate Weekender. Your donation helps pay for event tickets and hotel rooms so that every team member can participate.

For the LA trip we are also raising money for a charter bus. The bus is one of our biggest expenses (more than $6,000) but it keeps everyone safer, removes the need to drive in multiple cars, and lets our 50 person team travel together, bond and arrive rested instead of stressed from a long freeway drive.

If we reach our main goal, our stretch goal is to attend the San Francisco Salsa Festival and the Las Vegas Salsa Congress later in the season. Our team won the LA Collegiate Weekender competition last year to become collegiate champions, and we are training hard to defend that title and represent SJSU on the dance floor again.

Our goal for this Spring fundraiser is to raise $8,000. Every dollar goes directly to student expenses, including:

• Travel expenses for SLOSX, LA and other events
• Hotels and lodging during competitions and performances
• Competition passes and registration fees
• Costumes, team jackets and other team gear
• Food and other travel related expenses for the team
